Presentation of the project’s content:
CER Kft. was founded in 2012 with Eventrend Kft. holding a controlling majority stake. CER Kft. is the sole operator of the catering services at the New York Palace Hotel and the New York Café. It operates the New York Café, which is the café in Budapest serving the largest number of guests and generating the highest turnover. Its annual turnover is approximately 4 billion Ft. Salon Restaurant, which, according to international guides, has been ranked as the highest-quality hotel restaurant in Hungary for many years and is also significant by international standards. Our banqueting service organises approximately 600 events a year, comprising 450 group functions and 150 conferences.
As a result of the government regulations announced in March 2020 and the impact of the pandemic on international tourism, the New York Café was forced to close. As a result, CER Ltd. effectively lost its entire revenue immediately. Thanks to its own savings, it was able to retain 52 of its 182 staff members. The government’s job retention scheme also contributed to this. International tourism is expected to recover more slowly than domestic tourism, and events are expected to recover even more slowly. The period ahead of us will therefore be particularly difficult. However, we can use this enforced break to modernise our kitchen, and as a result of these improvements, we will continue to maintain our leading market position. These improvements will help us to retain and expand our workforce.
